Håkan Nesser is among Sweden’s most renowned authors. He made his name with his popular series featuring Inspector Van Veeteren, which won various awards: the Swedish Crime Writers’ Academy Prize for New Authors for his novel The Mind’s Eye, and the Best Novel Award for both Borkmann’s Point and Woman with Birthmark. Nesser has also produced a number of exciting stand-alone novels, including A Summer with Kim Novak, and in addition he has authored a highly acclaimed series focusing on Inspector Gunnar Barbarotti. Håkan Nesser’s work has been made into films and enjoys great international success. After a few years in London and New York, he divides his time between Stockholm and the island of Gotland.
